Debating

Each year, O’Loughlin Catholic College offers students the chance to join a Middle or Senior School Debating Team.

The teams participate in the Northern Territory Debating Competition, where they compete against teams from other Darwin schools once a week in Term One. As a debater, students practice skills of thinking on their feet, rebuttals and of course, public speaking. If students are successful, they are able to go on to compete in the Grand Finals or to try out for the Northern Territory Debating Team which competes at the National Debating Championships.
